The official IMED 2016 program began this afternoon.
In the morning, I popped by the Sigmund Freud House and
Museum, both the residence and medical office of the father of psychoanalysis.
To quote Freud: The times are gloomy. Fortunately it is not
my job to brighten them.
The opening plenary session provided a rich roster of
speakers offering unique perspectives on global disease surveillance and data
collection to guide policy and better coordinate public health response to
emerging pathogens.
More to follow, tomorrow.
