I eagerly read Richard Preston's The Hot Zone in 1994, as a very enthusiastic medical student. It was my introduction to the threat of infectious diseases by way of the Reston, Virginia Ebola epizootic.
The cinematic version is now available for streaming, a six episode mini-series by National Geographic.
