On today's travelblogue I have a pictorial summary of my bicycle ride from Vienna, Austria to Bratislava, Slovakia.
The stunning Austrian countryside was matched by a visit to the summer palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy, one of the greatest military leaders of the Habsburg Empire.
Later I crossed the former "iron curtain" on bicycle, witnessing the remnants of the former border (barbed wire and bunkers) before reaching Bratislava, Slovakia.
Picturesque, charming, historical and quintessentially European.
Off to Budapest, tomorrow, by ship, down the Danube.
